The main destination of this trip was Grand Falls but getting there was at least half the fun. While researching Grand Fall there were conflicting reports on do you need a 4x4 to get there or not. Some said yes others said no. So we decided to take the Jeep to be sure. I guess this wouldn't have made "Jeep Trips" if we didn't. I don't like driving the Jeep on the interstate so we took the back roads.

The drive through the pine forests north of Payson was wonderful. There was still a lot of snow, the temperature was cool and the road was a two lane lightly traveled pleasure to drive.

Me & Lynne standing near Mormon Lake near Flagstaff (Mt. Humphreys, Arizona's tallest peak - 12,637 feet in the background). It was cold there I'm guessing 45 degrees at about 10:00 am. Lynne is looking at a plaque which helps you look for
Bald Eagles around the lake.

Grand Falls is out in the middle of a treeless lava plain North/East of Flagstaff and way off the beaten path on a
rough dirt road on the Navajo reservation. Most of the year the falls is just a trickle or dry but in March & April it's flowing.
It's also touted to be taller than Niagara Falls... Maybe so, but it's not even close on the coolness scale.
However, it is very impressive in it's own right.
This is Grand Falls. Most people have never heard of Grand Falls so they sure didn't know that this is where
chocolate milk is made or at least Choc-Cola for sure.
Some info and scale.
